We are 4 miles from the horse riding trails at the New River Trail State Park, a 57-mile groomed trail that is an abandoned train track. It passes through the city of Galax and nearby counties. The park is used by hikers, horseback riders, fishermen, canoeists, boaters, and cyclists, and features two tunnels, three major bridges, almost 30 smaller bridges and trestles, and a historic shot tower.
