Lord Tennyson

Lord Tennyson has it all, wonderful bloodlines – Bueno, Caligula, El Patron, The Silversmith; incredible fleece – brilliant white, tight, crimpy bundles; good size and conformation; and incredible presence. Tennyson has inherited the great fleece shearing weight of his sire Lord Byron, like his sire Tennyson shears around 10 pounds. In addition to all these wonderful characteristics, Tennyson is a gentle boy with an incredible sense of presence about him.

At the 2009 VAOBA Expo Fleece Show, he was awarded the Reserve Color Championship. Earlier that year, he won First in the light class of the Virginia Classic Walking Fleece Fiber Futurity for the second time in a row. In 2008 he won as the youngest in the class at exactly 6 months of age (and went on to win Best in Futurity), and next year as the oldest in the class, just one day shy of 18 months.

Lord Tennyson’s first crias hit the ground in 2011, and they are incredible. They all have lovely fleece, conformation, and that sense of presence that hints at great things to come. Most of his crias have been white, though he has produced some lovely fawn crias out of dark dams. His crias offer proof that Tennyson is producing consistently dense, bright and conformationally correct offspring. You can see his stamp in their adorable ‘teddy bear’ faces and fleece. We were very pleased when Tennyson won First in the 2013 VA Classic Get of Sire. At the same show, Sir Galahad repeated Tennyson’s success in the Walking Fleece competition, winning First and Champion. His daughter Wild Bells was the 2014 VA Classic White Halter Color Champion. Tennyson has produced more than 16 crias, with more on the way.

Consider the benefits of adding Lord Tennyson’s great genetics to your herd. He has been the foundation of our herd, and will be a great addition to any alpaca breeding program. Contact us today to set up an appointment to meet this impressive herdsire.

FG Lystra
Medium Fawn, 814489, 1/2 Chilean, 1/2 Peruvian

Lystra is a beautiful, large alpaca with a lovely fawn fleece. A Caligula granddaughter through her sire El Patron, and from The Silversmith line through her dam, Lystra has the genetics to produce beautiful crias. She has been doing that every year. Lord Tennyson is a perfect example of the quality of her crias.

HG Lord Byron
White, 155574, Peruvian

This son of Peruvian Bueno and Peruvian Gamma is an experienced and assertive breeder. With large frame and outstanding conformation, his real claim to fame is his fleece weight. Three consecutive years, he sheared in excess of ten pounds.
